HELLFIRE--JOURNEY TO HELL--ADVENTURE GAME


          HELLFIRE,  the adventure game that takes you on a journey to HELL
    with all the devil's treasures at your finger tips.  Of course their is
    the fact that you can get killed VERY easy, so best take care.

          The  program  asks if you have a color monitor,  a (y) gives  you
    color  anything else assumes a no and you get monochrome  display.  You
    may  want to use this routine in your own programs .  Next you will  be
    asked if you need instructions or not. Now on to the adventure.

          All  instructions are entered at the prompt "WHAT SHALL WE  DO?".
    In  case you wonder what the "WE" means you will find I  have  provided
    you  with a lovely companion called "GORCH".  You will be passing  thru
    many  cave rooms and some of them are dark,  so I felt that if  someone
    was with you it would be more reassuring. Anyhow this guy has gone with
    many  adventureres before you and can be a lot of help if you treat him
    nice and ask politely. Remember, he has a name.

          As  you proceed on your way,  you can pick up any items you  feel
    will help you to achieve your goal.  The limit is six items but you can
    drop one to pick up another.  You will also find that your energy level
    will be depleated as you go along. There are of course many things that
    can restore your energy in large and small amounts.  Then some of  them
    can kill very fast,  if I had more space perhaps I could list them, but
    I'm sure you'll find them on your own.  Remember the old saying, "stop-
    LOOK-listen.

          One helpfull hint,  at any time at the prompt "WHAT SHALL WE DO?"
    you can enter the word "COMMANDS" and you will get a list of the  verbs
    used by the program. A carriage return will take you back to your place
    in the program with out losing any items or energy.
